Prince William made a visit to an LGBT charity in east London where he discussed the possibility of his kids coming up to him one day to say they were gay. It turns out these kids have a wonderful father.
The Duke of Cambridge attended the charity that helps people who are homeless due to their sexual or gender identity. According to Wednesday’s post from Daily Mail, an anonymous gay male from the charity asked William: “If your child one day in the future said, ‘oh, I’m gay, oh, I’m lesbian,’ whatever, how would you react?”
William, who’s been married to Kate Middleton since 2011, kept the answer pretty simple.
“I’ve been giving that some thought recently because a couple of other parents said that to me as well,” the man of royalty said. “I think you really don’t start thinking about that until you are a parent, and I think- obviously absolutely fine by me.”
He added: “It worries me, not because of them being gay, it worries me as to how everyone else will react and perceive it and then the pressure is on them.”
That makes a lot of sense. Since William’s three kids- George, Charlotte and Louis- are of royalty and make constant appearances in the public eye, it could be difficult to be their true selves with so much harbored attention. If it ever comes down to it, let’s hope the world will not only be loving about it, but not even have to think twice.
